Children & Young People
Growing up should be fun, but sometimes children and teenagers need a bit of extra support when life gets hard.
With younger children I use elements of play therapy and art therapy, often working on the floor, so they can explore what they're feeling and make better sense of it. Teenagers and young adults get the space to express things in their own way, with someone who knows how to build trust and make it safe.
Whether it's exam stress, anxiety or difficult behaviour, it's usually easier to talk to someone who knows what to do with what you bring. Buster tends to help with that part, especially with younger ones.
Ali is the Children and Young People's Clinical Lead at The Spark and has worked one day a week in a local primary school for years.
